Unipar Carbocloro is a leading player in the chemical and petrochemical industry in South America, standing out as the largest producer of chlorine and caustic soda and the second-largest producer of PVC in the region. The Company also manufactures sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid, as well as dichloroethane (EDC) and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM).
Founded more than 55 years ago in Brazil, Unipar Carbocloro currently operates four production facilities. In Brazil, two are strategically located in Cubatão and Santo André, in the State of São Paulo, and one is located in the industrial hub of Camaçari, in the State of Bahia. In Argentina, its production facility is located in Bahía Blanca.
Unipar Carbocloro is also a self-generator of electricity. In Brazil, the Company holds stakes in Tucano Holding and Veleiros, renewable wind energy generation companies, as well as in Lar do Sol, a solar energy generation company. In Argentina, Unipar holds an interest in Solalban, a local natural gas-based power generation company.
Unipar Carbocloro products serve as essential raw materials for a wide range of sectors and industries, including construction, sanitation, food processing, utilities, mining, steelmaking, automotive, healthcare, and pulp and paper.
